World Prophecy Network and HopeRev.org
Purpose and Vision Plan
“The most neglected teaching in the church today is the second coming of Jesus Christ.”
As the midnight hour on God’s prophetic clock draws near, the World Prophecy Network (www.worldprophecynetwork.com) is dedicated to spreading the hope of Jesus in the end times.
Led by an award-winning investigative journalist, the online newsmagazine and community features credible news and commentary by respected faith leaders, prophecy experts, journalists and authors. In today’s uncertain world, WPN offers hope, encouragement and a variety of resources to help people prepare for what famed international evangelist Billy Graham calls the “end of the age.”
Recognizing the need for a reliable source of end-times news, commentary and in-depth journalism, Troy Anderson (a former Los Angeles Daily News reporter who writes for Reuters, Newsmax, Christianity Today, Human Events, Watchdog.org, Charisma and other media outlets) co-founded WPN along with World Bible Society executive consultant and author Mary Dolkas and financial services professional Irene Anderson.
Recent polls demonstrate extraordinary public interest in the end times. A new Barna Group poll found 4 in 10 Americans – and 77 percent of evangelical Christians – believe the “world is now living in the biblical end times.” In an exclusive interview with Billy Graham, the famed evangelist told Anderson the signs of the “end of the age … are converging now for the first time since Jesus made those predictions.”
In response to the exploding interest in the nexus between biblical prophecies and current events, WPN serves as a central end-times forum featuring articles and videos by respected faith leaders, prophecy experts, journalists and authors.
WPN offers a variety of groundbreaking features and resources. In addition to news and commentary, the multimedia site also offers inspirational videos, a one-year Bible prophecy reading plan and a Bible Prophecy Basics page that answers the most common questions about the end times.
On a regular basis, WPN emails a free digital newsletter to subscribers featuring Top 10 Prophecy News, commentary by faith leaders, best-selling authors and prophecy experts, investigative stories, in-depth journalism, prophetic intelligence, videos, reports and other content.
As it grows, the online newsmagazine plans to host Bible prophecy debates at universities, colleges, churches and other public venues. Anderson, the debate host, and the audience will get a chance to ask some of the world’s premier Bible prophecy experts and scholars questions about the end times. WPN also plans to host Bible prophecy camps, conferences and retreats.
Given the importance of Israel in end-times events, WPN also seeks to raise awareness about current events in connection with biblical predictions regarding Israel. One way WPN does this is by promoting the efforts of the Costa Mesa, Calif.-based World Bible Society (www.worldbiblesociety.com) to print and distribute to Jewish people worldwide “The Jewish Scriptures” – evangelistic booklets containing Old and New Testament prophecies of Jesus’ first and second comings. WPN also promotes the work of the Tustin, Calif.-based Rock of Africa (www.rockofafrica.org), a Christian relief effort helping people in a crisis of disease, famine and poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Unique among many end-times publications, WPN places a special focus on the fact that the Bible, including the Book of Revelation, is a book of hope and the Second Coming is the great hope of the Christian faith.
Also, a professional journalist oversees WPN. Anderson, the president and editor-in-chief of WPN, is an award-winning journalist who spent two decades working as a reporter, bureau chief, editorial writer and editor at the Los Angeles Daily News, The Press-Enterprise and other newspapers. Today, he writes for Reuters, Newsmax, WND.com, Christianity Today, Human Events, Charisma, Outreach and many other magazines and media outlets.
The vision for WPN grew out of end-times stories Anderson wrote for Charisma, Christianity Today, WND.com and the L. A. Daily News since 2009. The first was an October 2009 cover story in Charisma entitled “Last Days Fever.” In December 2012, Charisma published Anderson’s “America at the End” story.
Afterwards, the producers of one of the biggest, box office surprises of 2012 contacted Anderson to ask if he would be interested in writing an end-times book and a screenplay for a major docudrama or feature film.
Anderson recently wrote a seven-part series for WND.com about how major evangelists – Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, Reinhard Bonnke, Greg Laurie, Chuck Smith, Luis Palau, Banning Liebscher and others – are turning their attention toward America in the hope of helping to ignite what Graham describes as an end-times “great spiritual awakening.” The series is about the My Hope America with Billy Graham evangelistic outreach that began Nov. 7, Graham’s 95th birthday.
In an effort to reach an even wider audience, WPN is in the process of creating a youth-oriented online newsmagazine and community known as HopeRev.org – Revelation. Revolution. Revival.
